Wedding Customs in Asia

Asian bride customs are very different from one another. They have the potential to offer amazing perspectives on various societies and ideologies.

A month prior to her marriage, a Chinese wife had cry with her family for an afternoon every day. Ten days later, her grandmother joins in, and by the time the struggle is over, every woman in the home may be sobbing alongside the bride. This practice, known as Au Chuang, is thought to facilitate the conception of a baby in newlyweds.

In Japan, it is usual for family members to give the wife a padded robe known as an uchikake before her wedding ceremony that has the structure of cranes, waves, and pines. Additionally, she may give decorated twigs from the revered Sakaki tree to her new residence while donning a hairstyle and an extra kimono with her family crest attached.

When the wedding arrives at the event, he is welcomed by the bride’s feminine relatives. To ward off evil eyes, they will use tilak and perform aarti. The Groom’s adult cousins will then be greeted and invited to participate in the ceremony of circling the holy flames during the Milni Ceremony. They did make their pledges here to one another and to their households.

The groom’s family will then give her parents bride price ( betrothal gifts ) if their horoscopes coincide. The couple will then walk around the fireplace in a circle after that. This is done to keep their goals, such as success, passion, and obligation to one another and their families, in the forefront of their minds.
